Question #2.

Question #2 -
What kind of sewing machines do you use?
We make our handbags with Viking Sewing Machine.
We learned how to sew on a very very old Singer sewing machine.
When we were little, our parents went to the
Minnesota State Fair and learned about
a "new" sewing machines - Vikings made in Sweden - they were green at that time.
Our dad sold a cow to buy mom that machine they saw at that fair.
It didn't take long before every spare minute we had, we were sewing!
We've had several Vikings over the years - preferring older machines over brand new one.
We do not used computerized machines.
Our stitching is pretty basic.

20 Most Asked Questions - #1

We've decided to answer
the twenty most asked questions about Helen's Daughters!
Question #1.
Who was Helen??
Helen is our mother!!
She was born in the mid 1920's.
She grew up in Minnesota. Had to leave her home to work at age 14.
Met and married our dad at age 19 and had her first child at 20.
She had a total of six children.
Lived on a farm, milked Jersey cows,
grew a huge garden, worked very hard
and LOVD to sew.
She taught us how to sew when we were five years old.
She was creative, hard working, community minded and said girls can do anything!
To honor our Mom,
 we've called our business
"Helen's Daughters!"
(Helen is on the left hand side and she's standing with her sisters - Mary and Murna.)
